Staveley 2s vs Amber Valley Bees

After a Calders warm up Kara was made by the opposition captain to run up to the top car park to get the team sheets before the match! Tactics started already!

Staveley started well with Kelly T showing off her skill to go straight past the defence of the Bees and almost snatching the first goal.

Staveley continued to press with great play from all the team, Grace producing some great tackles and runs in midfield. After chances from both sides including a fantastic save off the line by Sam, the Bees converted just before half time going 1-0 ahead at the break.

Bees came out strong and scored straight away doubling their lead. Both Staveley and the Bees produced some great play with Kelly making even more great runs. Unfortunately Staveley were caught on the break, 3-0 down and undeserved.

Staveley defended well, but with an unfortunate ball to the leg on the line, a flick was awarded. Then came a sudden charge down the pitch by a Bee, so everybody moved out the way! The flick was converted making it 4-0.

A further 2 goals soon followed, but it was a great team performance and the score certainly didn’t reflect the game.
An amazing performance from Kelly Thring earned her the man of the match award. 🙂
